2016 Charity of the Year - Visual Impact Now (VIN)

Every year the Asian American Optometric Society chooses a special charity that is near and dear to our hearts to donate proceeds from raffles and fundraisers.  This year, we have chosen a charity based in Los Angeles that helps over 1,000 school children every year see better.  These children are from all walks of life but too many do not have sufficient access to eye care.  Visual Impact Now (VIN) seeks to make a difference in these children lives and in doing so, has further the basic right of great vision and eyecare to those who need it most in Los Angeles, our children.  Below is a special message from the CEO of Visual Impact Now, Ellen Hollman.

Visual Impact Now is an official 501-c3 organization founded with the goal in mind that "Every child deserves the gift of sight." We have served as a fundraising and awareness arm for our partners One Sight, providing free eye exams and glasses to children and families unable to afford it. With your help, we service over 1,000 children at a time from LA School District 1&2, 6&7 and the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood at our annual eye clinic in downtown Los Angeles.

Visual Impact Now has been the key non-profit for events such as the Golden Globes Style Lounge, Coachella, LA Fashion Week and Sundance Film Festival as well as numerous holiday, fundraising and awareness events. Host Committee Members and supporters have included Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White, Chris Pine (Star Trek), Zoë Saldana (Avatar), January Jones(Mad Men) and fellow Spartacus cast members to name a few.

We're always seeking new and exciting opportunities to further the expand of our organization and   are fortunate to have so many caring individuals inspired by our cause. Together, we can make a difference!
